I view every student as a unique and innovative individual. My role is to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where students feel free to explore their creative potential. Art is not just about
creating beautiful objects; it's about developing the whole person. I aim to cultivate emotional,
intellectual, and social growth in my students through art. Encouraging self-expression, empathy, and the ability to communicate visually are all essential aspects of my teaching. I model a process based learning style and serve as a resource for my students through visual language, media, and art history. My goal will be to help students with the decision-making process by being an effective teacher, and instill self-motivation. Students will gain knowledge through daily experiences in a fun and safe learning environment with hands on activities that guide them towards self discoveries.
As an Art Educator, I provide students with the necessary technical skills and knowledge needed to work in various art mediums. I encourage experiential learning, while providing students the hands on opportunities to work with various art forms. Giving students the freedom to explore and experiment is important for their growth and understanding. Whether it's through open-ended projects or guided explorations, students learn best when they have the space to make choices, take risks, and learn from their mistakes. I feel its important to create strong relationships in an enviornment where students feel valued and safe to explore, learn and create. Each student has a unique learning style, my role is to identify their strengths and struggles while developing a learning strategy to create breakthroughs and connections through art.
Art is a reflection of culture and history. I integrate discussions about diverse art forms, artists, and cultural contexts into my curriculum. This promotes cultural awareness, diversity, and respect for different perspectives, leading student on a path of greater understanding and discovery . I see
myself as not only an instructor but also as a role model for students. By demonstrating a passion
for art and a commitment to lifelong learning, I hope to instill in them a love for art that extends beyond the classroom. This sort of balance creates a safe place for students to learn and grow
both academically and socially.
